Alyce began working for her father at the law practice well before going to school, helping clients collect first party benefits and developing evidence for cases. She’s been running the firm for since 1999 when she was admitted to the New York Bar and Mr. Wittenstein retired. She’s successfully settled hundreds of personal injury cases and worked on trials alongside some of the greatest trial lawyers in the country with the Jacob Fuchsberg Law Firm. She believes that no case is too big or too small, so feel free to call her at 718-261-8114 to discuss a potential case. If she can’t take the case, she’ll make sure you have a thorough understanding of her reasoning.

Alyce earned her juris doctor degree in 1998 from City University of New York (CUNY) Law School, the number one public interest law school in the United States. It’s an institution known for breeding activist attorneys with the motto “Law In The Service Of Human Needs.” While at CUNY Law School, she had the great honor to serve as a teaching assistant to the notable civil rights attorney and activist Haywood Burns. Her popular tutorials for Haywood, on constitutional law topics such as equal protection, packed the school’s auditorium with hundreds of students. She was also a teaching assistant for Dinesh Kholsa, a founding member of CUNY Law and the Executive Director of SDK Foundation for Human Dignity. Alyce’s accomplishments at CUNY Law School included founding a human rights delegation that traveled through Haiti and had dinner at the home of Jean Claude Aristide and studying constitutional law at the University of Nice with Ruth Bader Ginsburg.

Alyce earned her Bachelor of Science degree from Boston University, with a double major in Film Production and Political Science. She was the editor of the activist newspaper “The BU Exposure,” working closely with the newspaper’s renowned advisor Howard Zinn, author of The People’s History of the United States. Her goals included making films that would both enlighten and entertain. She went on to make three prophetic films that were released as the trilogy “Multiple Futures and Other Paranoid Fantasies.

Alyce grew up in Forest Hills during the turbulent 1970’s, attending one of the first fully integrated middle and high schools in Queens. She credits this opportunity with her lifelong appreciation of people of all races, religions and nationalities. She began working for her father at the Wittenstein office on Utica Avenue in Brooklyn when she was a teenager attending Forest Hills High School. One of her fondest memories was the chicken curry roti sandwich from the neighboring restaurant.

The firm was born on Utica Avenue in Brooklyn in 1959, providing straight-talking legal services to a struggling Community.  The word spread, clients referring their friends and family and another office opened in Brooklyn.  Mr. Wittenstein believed that each client deserved his time, attention and respect.  He earned each client’s trust with a dedication to getting them the best possible settlements and verdict, but also by helping them out in any way he could with other legal matters that would have required billable retainers elsewhere.  He went the extra mile for each and every client and the referrals pouring in.  In 1984, the practice moved to Queens, incorporated as Frederick M. Wittenstein, Esq. P.C.  A year later, the firm moved to the Cord Meyer Building on Queens Boulevard in Forest Hills.  The clients came from Brooklyn, and new clients came from Queens, The Bronx, Manhattan, Staten Island and Nassau County.  The children of the original clients from Brooklyn came to us.  Mr. Wittenstein is retired, but remains as a consultant to the practice.

Why Women Attorneys are better for Harassment and Personal Injury Cases

Working in New York City or any other city in the world comes with its own benefits and advantages as well as with its risks and problems. One thing that is easily (and sometimes not-so-easily) noticeable is that when it comes to the ratio of benefits to risks and problems, men have more benefits and are liable to suffer from less problems than women. This can be accredited to the fact in most organizations, men are more revered and hold more prestigious positions than women. Women have to swim through rivers and seas to get the amount of respect and opportunities which men don’t [...]

What’s Changed For Car Accidents As NYC Reopens?

New York City finally entered Phase I of reopening this Monday, June 8th. This smart reopening is only happening because we’re continuing to see a downward trend in new cases, hospitalizations and deaths. At the peak of the crisis there were few cars on the road, but traffic is expected to pick up after the re-opening, increasing the likelihood of accidents. People injured in car accidents were sent home during the lockdown for fear of stressing hospitals and spreading the disease. There are still precautions in place, but new options are becoming available for car accident victims. It’s hard to keep up on all [...]
